Warm and Charming Scandinavian Home

For those of us who enjoy a little challenge, this apartment is a perfect space with its irregular ceilings and tight corners. Its beautiful terrace overlooks the tops of the city, making each day in this small cozy space a tasteful and simple one.

The living room consists of various sofas and chairs that surround a white furnace, and it is the apartment’s brilliant use of light colors, lighting and wood that allows for such a place to look as far from being constrained and tight as possible. The kitchen is not separated from the living room, to appear more spacious, and with all the necessary kitchen utilities including an oven and microwave, there is nothing that this kitchen lacks. The counter, which allows for the space to be visually segregated from the living room, is small and chromatically a combination of white and wood, keeping in line with the color scheme of the rest of the room. An irregular, half brick wall serves as a gentle separating apparatus that allows the dining area to have its own intimacy while looking out into the beautiful balcony that also heavily uses wood.

The hallway is of a purple-grey that softly compliments the white door frames and doors of each bedroom, and in one room specifically almost all the furniture is of a dreamy white. The warm yellow lighting from the lamps beside the bed allows the room to have a soft atmosphere that makes the slanted ceiling look completely natural and unobstructive.

Surprisingly, there are two other bedrooms, both of which also use wooden flooring and white for furniture. Lamps are kept as slim and minimalistic to appear as less space-consuming as possible. Yet perhaps the most interesting room of them all is a small nook that consists of an elevated flooring of brick. Here, only a few pillows and a heater serve as decor, and one can simply imagine laying down, reading, and enjoying the soft silence as the rain softly taps on the ceiling window.

The bathroom is also almost all white, and the walls are of a same white tile as the floors are. Notice how the dryer and washing machine have been placed in the area with the most inclined ceiling, thereby allowing more space and height for greater things such as the shower and the sink, keeping this bathroom from feeling constrained and narrow. A built in shelf also makes the most of space, and a small, low window helps to fight claustrophobia.

For those who look for nothing short of a cozy, creative space, this apartment is a luxury. Despite its low-leveled ceilings, the beautiful view and hefty use of whites keeps things simple and clean, making it the perfect space for anyone who finds comfort in the most intimate of rooms.
