Modern Chic With Classic Victorian’s Historic Details

How else would you expect the home of an editor-in-chief to be if not having a unique customization and an overall run-through that gives it a sweet and cozy finish? That is what Sunset Magazine’s chief editor, Irene Edwards did.

Even though it took her two years to pull off the final design of this home, she definitely did an amazing job. She loves blending styles, and it is evidently seen all around the house. She has included various styles including modern light fixtures, glossy black accents, and black trim, as well as startling photography in different areas.

Another thing to notice is the blend of the rustic theme in this 19th century home with the modern accents. Various windows are included all around the house to allow natural light to flow inside. She has also included some plants and flowers that don’t only decorate the rooms, but also give out a soothing fragrance.

The overall theme is bright with some black shades, and wood-tiled floor that gives the house the rustic style. She is a lover of luxury as you can notice some golden fixtures in different areas including the golden curtain rails, taps in the bathroom, a table lamp, as well as a unique chandelier.

This home defines comfort and luxury that are blended in an antique setting.

  1. Can you please share where the tile is from on the wall behind the dining room nook? Cream, shiny, square tile.
