No feeling in this world can beat overwhelming sense of belonging you get any time you set foot into your beautifully decorated home. But where exactly do you start with so many details to take into account?. This post focuses on a house that adapts a minimalism theme complemented by bits of rustic decor. Minimalism entails ridding a house of all the unnecessary clutter and decorations.
This particular house uses white as the theme color to achieve this. The walls in the living room are purely white, and so is the mat of the floor. To slightly contrast the white color, grey seats sit at the middle without attracting much attention. Instead of using an ordinary wooden or glass table, a wooden shipping box stands at the center. It has foreign language writings on different angles thus adding a sense of culture and uniqueness to the room. With such minimalistic colors, a book shelf full of books at the corner adds life to the room. The doors on the other hand, are perfectly tailored to contrast white and grey colors with their black metallic frames.
A wooden floor in any room commands a lot of attention and respect. This particular living room has one of those rustic floors that give it a cozy and classy appearance. The rustic appearance is accentuated by long pieces of wood that run across the white ceiling all the way from the living room to the bedroom. Also, numerous plants adorn this room.
The dining area should be one of the most colorful rooms in a house due to the purpose it serves. As much as this house takes a minimalistic approach, the dining room has more color. The floor mat is navy blue, and so is the staircase. The wall is embellished with several hangings ranging from paintings to photo frames. These add life and meaning to the room, and they also hint to the character of the house’s owner. Just like every other room, different plant type with flower pots that match with the floor are arranged across the room and on the table. There is also a chandelier that brings about an aura of class and good taste. In order to avoid cluttering the room, window curtains take the two most common colors, white and plant green.
The staircase which is one of the most ignored parts of a house is decorated with wall hangings at different points. Also, a matching navy blue floor pillow is placed at one of the steps to facilitate a reading session from time to time. In addition, wine bottles are placed on the floor next to plants. They serve a decorative purpose, and they also add glamour to the room. The bathroom follows the white theme pattern white tiles on the floor and walls. In order to add texture and character to this private room, woven storage baskets and a plant are placed on the shelves.
The kitchen too follows the white theme but adds an ornamental brick pattern on the walls. Fruits, veggies and other items add color while plants bring serenity into the normally busy room. Kitchen plants can be used as spices and also contribute to the aroma. The windows are large enough to provide natural lighting and oxygen for both the plants and humans. Instead of wall hooks, a mesh wire is placed on a wall for storage purposes (stores hand towels). It blends in perfectly with the black and white brick pattern.
