Happy Modern Victorian Home

Queens Park House designed by honeybee interiors.

The brief was to design a unique and striking living room to reflect the clients love of colour and both modern and vintage design pieces.  With a backdrop of light walls we were are able to bring in some bold statement pieces including the multi coloured vintage Chandelier and a bespoke bright yellow velvet ottoman for pops of colour.  With the whole family using the room, it had to still be down to earth and kid friendly, hence the dark contemporary sofa and wood flooring.  Walls were decorated with family portraits in eclectic style, and pieces of their favourite artwork.   The piece d’resistance is the oversized Abigail Ahern mirror to make a real feature of the fireplace.

The bedroom was to have a hotel luxury feel but again using a mixture of old and new, with the en-suite shower room to compliment and look part of the room, hence the large Rocco Mirror to be seen from the bedroom with no doors.  Farrow and Ball’s railing colour makes a great backdrop for the bedding and stag heads antlers.

In the children’s bathroom Sacha decided to mix up styles again: ‘This is my outlet for a shabby chic – it’s a small room – so it has to be light and this style fits it perfectly’, says Sacha.
