A Home That Feels Alive

A Home That Feels Alive

Parson’s green townhouse designed by Sims Hilditch.

The design story behind this three-storey Victorian terraced property in Fulham’s Parsons Green district begins much before decoration.

While the available space inside was great, to make the absolute most of the potential space an natural light, Emma advised excavating. This way, we were able to add volume to the building and increase ceiling heights throughout. Such alterations make an enormous difference to a home’s character.

The Sims Hilditch team reconfigured the entire property, amending floor levels similar to mirror how an aged country home would have the odd step here and there. Kitchen and bathroom design, courtyard garden landscaping and interior decoration followed suit.

Every room – from the sunken cinema in the basement to the bedroom and bathroom in the eaves – has been meticulously designed to create a home that feels alive and perfectly relevant in the city, but serves as a warm reminder of the family’s main residence in the Wiltshire countryside.

  1. A beautiful home. Can you share info on the kitchen cabinets, the wallboard and flooring choices in the home? The paisley wallpaper is stunning!
