American singer-songwriter and musician Holly Williams holds more talent beyond the lines and notes of her beautiful music. It’s undeniable where her musical prowess takes its roots, that is, from her mother Becky’s family’s long line of artists. Apparently, they have also instilled in her the love for architecture and interior design. Did you know that her mother decorated her house in 1987, yet you won’t have the slightest impression that it was recently designed for its majestic timeless ambiance.

In 2011, she ventured into house hunting herself, together with husband Chris Coleman, artist and musician. Through one night’s dream of an airy and historic place that has a double fireplace, they have both manifested their dreams of to reality. Their new lovely home has been splashed with neutral colors and handpicked pieces of their own choosing. The place is then imbued with historic charm and made timeless with family keepsakes and invaluable heirlooms, each with its own story to tell.

Walk into the home and you’ll be greeted with a tremendous gallery wall infused with generations of family photos and passed-down paintings, vintage rugs and crystalline lights. Enter the dining room, and you’ll travel back in time with the classic gray, black and white palette in plain colors matched with a metallic floral wallpaper. A painting hung beside the window accentuates the room and you’ll be dining in elegant wooden furniture.

Holly and Chris adapted a kitchen reminiscent of French Bistros with white subway tiles and polished marble surfaces, a pine ceiling that elicits a county vibe, copper accents, antique stools, and of course, the fireplace which cradles an original priceless family photo and exquisite silver cordials. Even shelves give off a rustic feel with the metal material resting amidst a chalkboard wall endowed a personal touch by husband Chris’s drawing.

The living room is much brighter, with Holly skipping the curtains and welcoming the abundance of natural light. This enhances the crispness of white paint in a room laden with a huge weathered clock and grand baby piano, which presents the perfect mood and setting for family music jam sessions.

The master bedroom features a pine-clad ceiling with cloudy-gray shade, matched with a pine chest resting in the room, and atop the wrought-iron canopy bed that closely resembles one that belonged to her grandmother. A rustic leather chair and brass sconces complete the mood and make it cozier than ever.
