In this unique loft in Milan, Italy, designed by Studio Motta e Sironi you can see a blend of innovation and style. Light and space are used to create an exceptional atmosphere.
The kitchen has a simple minimalist design. Calm white cabinetry and white floors with a black counter-top give this kitchen a vibrant look. The large painting placed on the counter creates a distinct impression. In fact, if you are looking at this section of the house from afar, you may not immediately know that it is the kitchen. You can enjoy natural illumination, while cooking throughout the daytime, from the expansive window. The cooker is located in between the cabinets and the staircase. Two stainless steel lighting fixtures – designed like an industrial chimney – provide extra lighting.
The living area has a black overhanging lamp (installed like a small crane) that provides illumination directly above the centerpiece. The basic white background theme brightens up the entire living area. The high ceiling makes it look like you are in a hotel lobby. Several indoor plants are placed around the furniture and sofa to provide you with a refreshing supply of oxygen. The white sofa has different throws covered with white, gray and beige. The two multi-colored rugs also contain these three colors that complement the design theme.
Another distinct section of this home is the relaxation area. It has a well built fireplace. On top of the fireplace, a bookshelf extends up to the upper floor of the loft. But you may need to climb up the wooden ladder to grab a copy of your favorite novel or magazine when you want to read. This relaxation area is located directly below the bedroom and it has two very attractive cushions. You can lie down comfortably on them while you watch the flat screen TV or read a book.
The white metal stairway takes you to the upper section of the loft. Up here, you have a nice cozy place to sleep as well as a library and a home office. These three upper sections rest on a polished hardwood floor.
