The Printing House
The Printing House by workshop/apd – the iconic, industrial building that anchors the West Village – has been fully re-imagined from top to bottom, inside and out, as particularly modern, luxury residences by workshop/apd. The original 1911 architecture is now infused with warm modernist character that respects and enhances the building’s industrious history. Sixty-four new residences – including loft-like 1-4 bedroom residences, light filled maisonettes and brand new five-story townhouses with individual roof terraces and garden entrances – have been designed, with 15 ft ceilings, double-height living rooms and large-scale windows that maximize both natural light and downtown views. Without compromising its beauty or rich industrial lineage, the re-imagined Printing House respects the beauty and heritage of the industrial age which brings warmth, vitality and excitement to the iconic West Village landscape.
