Ιt’s obvious that this home designed by super talented Max Humphrey, is unique for a number of reasons. First, Max has managed to incorporate tradition into the otherwise bohemian influenced décor style. Secondly, there are heaps of cultural overtones from as far away as South and North Asia to oodles of western influence and pizzazz. Thirdly, the ambiance of the home has numerous textures from metal, to brick, to lush tactile properties like faux-fur throws. Lastly, there are heaps of patterns that clash, yet harmonize the overall vibe of the space. Codifying this type of arrangement requires a good sense of what “doesn’t” work in order to bring all those elements together to make them work! Yes, it takes a bit of unconventional interior design psychology to come up with such a conclusion; however, the amazing interior design on display in this abode calls for atypical explanations!
The exposed brick adds just the right amount of character in the living room area, giving it a homey down-to-earth feel. It’s a comfy room filled with splashes of color inundated with striking patterns and sui generis artistic accents. From the metal “WORKS” sign on the wall, to the Asian influenced lamp on the side table and the multi-drawer console, this living room is a collage of dazzling creativity. The beams of natural light that radiant the room reflects wonderfully off the stark white walls. There’s an abundance of machination in this living room setting.
The kitchen area emulates the identical theme of the living room. The reddish tones of the cherry wood type cabinets add that special hint of color that brings the space alive. The stainless steal appliances add a contemporary feel along with the Paris tower side chair. It’s certainly a kitchen anyone would love to cook and eat in!
The heavy Asian influence continues in the chill-out area. The flaming-red console is a knock-out piece. With brass textured lamps on top, animal print accent rug, and hanging wall-art with numerous hieroglyphs swathed in burnt-red shades along with white walls and accent chairs, makes a striking focal point.
The words “there’s no place like home” is what comes to mind when viewing the bedroom décor. The blue/white vichy plaid is a dead give away. This type of pattern is a classic in kitchens; however, using it in a bedroom is just as effective and awesome!
There are so many outstanding visual aspects to this interior décor, there’s no one place that is more bewitching than the other. From 60s retro style to avant-garde 21st century glitz, this home has it all and it all works together magnificently!
