A Distinct and Elegant Scheme Of Lines Colors and Forms
Italian Architect and Designer Teresa Spacey, known for the bright and colorful Hotel Puerta America car park and Madrid-based Estudio TS, has again tackled a high-end residential project located in the heart of London.
The Challenge:
Teresa Sapey Studio was tasked to convert two adjacent apartments situated in South Kensington into a single residence, right within the grounds of a 19th century mansion block.
Quoting the studio in a press statement, they aimed to establish a unique relationship between architectural styles of the past, present, and future in a contemporary home. This is exactly what they achieved with the Eclectic Albert Court Apartment.
The Result:
Teresa Sapey Studio can be lauded for producing a distinctive residence endowed with elegance in the scheme of lines, colors and various forms while the property’s original presence has been rightfully preserved.
Home Sweet Home
The newly structured property holding the size of 667 square meters was completed in 2015. It has maintained its timeless Victorian layout which was split into two wings, whereby the rooms under each wing are distinguishable with each its own different features.
One wing comprised a master bedroom, guest and dressing rooms, as well as a gym, while the other wing had two more bedrooms, a pantry, kitchen, and laundry room. The flooring materials were either marble, parquet, or carpet, while moldings, windows, and cornices on the ceilings, over doors and fireplaces were kept intact.
Entering each room gives a different lovely ambiance with the amazing design it showcases for the purpose it serves. Chandeliers and hanging lamps are noticeable with their remarkable form. Some fixtures come in solid colors, while some are clear glass or plain white to match the surroundings.
The Teresa Sapey Studio intensified a language of contrasts, with a gradation of differentiated color pallets seen throughout the residence. Black and white shades dominate the communal areas. The cleanliness of white looks classy and very attractive, exhibited by the walls, ceilings, carpets, cabinetry and furniture. The brilliance of black never fails to captivate with its allure, as seen in the hallway, big round dining table with matching vivid black seats, lamps and vases.
Fine textures, patterned tiles, luxurious lighting designs, and one-of-a-kind custom-built furniture apprises Albert Court’s primordial character. These exceptional things enhance classical elements while unleashing almost endless possibilities when it comes to design. Private spaces, on the other hand, are dressed in state-of-the art decors with modern shapes, styles, and colorful tones that the studio has made certain to blend perfectly well.
