Any professional interior home designer will tell you how the vintage homes are developed with a classy modern touch. This is a common trend that has been used in many homes for the sake of enhancing the elegance and promoting uniqueness.

Speaking of uniqueness, here is a sneak peek of a great bungalow that has been developed in the Venice Beach by an interior design specialist, Marissa Cramer. Marissa is the owner of a leading interior design company, Made Co, http://www.madeco.la/. With her design savviness, she managed to craft this incredible 100-year old cottage in the famous Venice Beach.

What makes this house unique?

One of the apparent fact that makes this cottage worth talking about is its location. It is in the Abbott Kinney neighborhood, and just a few steps from the sea. The house is a small bungalow that is developed with spectacular qualities that make it cozy enough. Marissa stays with the boyfriend, and she focused on making the home bright, welcoming, with some modern touch, while still maintaining the traditional touches.

Areas of focus in the house

1. Dining Room

This area has been developed with a white oak table, an Olympus Mons Print, folded metal mirror, metal bistro chairs, linen upholstery end chairs, a stylish chandelier, and an area rug.

A built-in bar is also included in the dining room, though it was fitted by the original designer. However, Marissa did some updates by adding a couple of brass knobs for an extra level of elegance. She also maintained the design of the windows to promote the inflow of natural light to the room.

2. The Kitchen

The kitchen has porcelain tiles, a brass pendant, brass knobs, a butcher bock countertop, a white/brass flush mount light, a few decorative throw pillows, and some framed prints.

This is the area around the house that was extra rusty. Initially, there were vinyl floors, along with a purple fitted bench. The cabinets were not eliminated, though they were refurbished with a new white paint and brass T-pulls.

3. The Living Room

This area includes a sectional sofa, an end table, and a coffee table. Also, there is a blush velvet accent char, a bookcase, a walnut console, an area rug, throw pillows, a gray linen drapery, among others.

Marissa painted the wall with a dark, moody blue paint for an extra welcoming environment. The color picked is versatile depending on the time of the day.

4. Bedroom

The bedroom features two nightstands; a Tate upholstered bed with linen duvet, drapery and curtain rods, a dresser, along with a round mirror.

It includes a blend of femininity and masculinity to meet the personalities of Marissa and the boyfriend. The walls are painted gray, while the curtains are navy velvet, and there is also a touch of brass and blush.

Even though this home is 100 years old, Marissa has managed to transform it into a spectacular haven that is welcoming, vibrant, and trendy as well.
