The Sveagatan 24, located in Gothenburg, is two-room property which has blended both contemporary and traditional design elements to create truly unique interior space. The apartment measures only 58 square meters, but uses an open-plan design to create the illusion of more living space. The property includes a staircase, as well as an elevator, and has several large windows which allow natural light to enter the property, illuminating design features such as hard wood floors and high ceilings.
Lounge
The first thing you will notice when entering the property is the use of the color white. Here white has been used in every corner of the property, from the color of the walls and hard wood flooring, to rugs, sofas and chairs. This helps to create a clean and fresh feel to the interior, and draws the eye to many design features which have been incorporated into the room to add a splash of color. A heart-shaped plant on one of the window sills instantly catches the eye when in the lounge area, with the green of the leaves complimenting the rest of the interior space. The heart-theme is continued throughout the room, with a wicker decorative piece sitting on top of a large mirror – also used to give the illusion of more space in the apartment. A black throw lies on the bed and this is a color that has also been used throughout the room, including on floral-print cushions which grace the contemporary sofa. Books and candles provide unique decorative pieces, while white boxes and drawers allow for plenty of storage.
Bedroom
The white theme continues in the bedroom, with a wooden headboard and pentagon-shaped lamp shade. Unique decorative pieces have been incorporated into the room to provide a homely touch – a must when using the color white which can sometimes been seen as sterile in other design contexts. Mirrored-cupboards not only provide plenty of storage but give the impressive of more space as well, especially as they are positioned on the adjacent side to a large window with lots of natural light. A lilac wall on the far side of the room is home to a wicker decorative circle which hangs on top of the bed.
Kitchen
White wooden units provide a traditional country kitchen feel with a contemporary twist, with large chairs circling a small dining table. Flowers are used to add some color in the room, while bowls and cups neatly line shelves on the far side of the room.
