Authentic Simplistic Design That Works
This renovated house has been beautifully redesigned into a glowing home built around harmony and distinctive accents. The kitchen area gives you a stunning preview of what you can expect from the rest of the décor in this lovely home.
The living room area continues the theme exemplified in the kitchen area with aplomb. The greyish light-pewter tone tinted with shallow brown hues create a laid back, easy vibe. It’s comfortable, welcoming, homey, and lived in. The oak herringbone designed hardwood floor is a neutral brown hue and the rich grey colored accent rug is chic, yet demure. The shabby-chic console adds a mild rustic feel to the setting while maintaining the contemporary feel of the room. Unique wall art and crochet pieces keeps the space personal and inviting.
The kitchen emits a silver greyish light-pewter tone. It’s almost invisible. There’s nothing outlandish. It’s simple, easy, and functional. There’s plenty of natural light to balance out the muted tone. The elementary furnishings have a mild Shaker effect. Shaker furniture has a classifiable style and based on the values of simpleness, functionality, and veracity. These impressions were beautifully replicated in the Shaker furniture.
Minimalist designs are the hallmark of the Shaker appeal. This home takes on that structure, especially in the kitchen area. Though modernized, it’s retains a respectable simplicity. In addition, the kitchen area has many fine oddities like the wall rack for wine glasses, a black wooden framed wall mirror, and open shelving for various dishes, teapots, and other objects.
Stepping into the small corridor, is like walking into a wind swept storm of twigs and feathers. The black/white wallpaper complements the white painted hardwood floor creating a perfect union for a knock-out effect. It’s beautiful and impressive!
This bedroom is small and quaint. What takes it into the stratosphere is the beautiful wallpaper. Floral wallpaper is not easy to work with, but this design is perfect and suits the décor flawlessly. A closet along one side of the wall provides plenty of storage. Other furnishings are simple and complementary while the night-stands provide a distinctive contrast.
The small work space is personable and notional. Upon close inspection, you discover there is so much potential in this diminutive space. It’s flexible. A mountain of colors and accents can be added to the decor, but it’s just fine the way it is; structural and uncluttered. The multi-colored accent rug brings it all together meticulously.
The bathroom incorporates white tiles on the floor and wall and creates the illusion of a larger space. The space is carved graciously to suit the necessities like the sink and washer and dryer. The hints of silver as in the piping along the base of the wall and the bathroom fixtures enhances the modernistic feel of the space.
The broad hallway is bright and enchanting. This home is a gem built around simplistic concepts and unique ideas. It’s centered around a homely atmosphere coupled with exceptional taste.
