A Scandi Style Home With a Pinch Of Modernity and Country Air

Who said living away from the city should be boring? A house on a clifftop near a beach can bring more luxury and harmony than any luxurious modern apartment. This particular house combines a richly minimalistic scandi style with a breath of fresh coastal air. The interior walls, floors and shelves are dominated by various types of exotic woods painted in different colors, juxtaposed against a few brick walls just to break monotony and to add a little bit of spice.

The living room is minimally furnished with a grey couch, a brown leather seat and a long bench leaning on one of the walls. The walls also express a similar kind of diversity with each piece of furniture leaning on a different type of wall material. The grey couch is intimately supported by a brownish wooden wall, while on the opposite side, the whitish bench creates a sharp contrast with the black wall behind it, The brown seat on the other hand is laid against a grey brick wall. This kind of disunity in the living room creates a casual and edgy feel that is almost rustic.

The scandi kitchen makes use of two main colors; black and white. The walls, cabinets and shelves and painted in bold black and the countertops are made of dark grey stainless steel. This dominance of black creates room for pure white utensils to steal the spotlight. To add a little bit of life and excitement, an indoor plant on a brown flower pot sits quietly on one corner.
The dining area allows the house’s occupants to enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery. This area is separated from the outdoors by a glass wall, thus allowing enough light and a breathtaking view. A simple table accompanied by long traditional Mexican benches and a few stools are enough for this dining area.
One of the bedrooms is adjacently located next to the living room. Instead of a concrete wall, a rare wooden sliding door separates the two rooms. Inside the bedroom, a custom queen bed is creatively placed very close to the wall. As a result, the house’s besser blocks serve as a headboard for the bed.

The wooden theme also makes its way into the bathroom with a spotted wooden countertop. On top of it, a white ceramic basin contrasts the golden tap which is connected to a black wall. This creative use of colors creates a rare blend that automatically appeals to the eyes. An indoor flower and a broad mirror complete the look.

The outdoor area is as appealing as the indoor. Located next to a beach, in a very calm environment, the house’s deck allows one to enjoy a rare view of cool waters, stones, birds and trees. Overall, this home is the ultimate getaway from the city’s congestion.
