Perched high above Athens, where the city blurs into rugged Mediterranean terrain, stands a house that feels less like a residence and more like an architectural revelation. Designed by Kallos Turin, this concrete sanctuary transforms the steep hillside into a fluid, living organism—one where curves soften the severity of raw concrete, light carves out emotional space, and a lush garden climbs the structure as though nature itself were reclaiming it.
This is not just a home. It’s a manifesto.
Where Concrete Becomes Poetic

Despite its material honesty, nothing about the house feels cold. Concrete walls sweep in continuous curvilinear lines, guiding you from one space to the next with surprising grace. From the approach through the garden entrance to the sculptural front door and through the home’s four levels, circulation is not a necessity—it’s an experience.
The beating heart of this experiential flow is the curved concrete staircase, an architectural spine that rises through the center of the home. It’s echoed by an external staircase that spirals its way to the rooftop, where a serene pool and panoramic views of Athens deliver a cinematic finale.
Art as Architecture, Architecture as Art

Designed to house an evocative collection of African art, the home treats artwork not as decoration but as a co-author of the space. Every wall, niche, and circulation axis frames pieces intentionally. The interplay between the bold concrete surfaces and richly layered paintings builds a dialogue of texture, color, and cultural resonance.
And the surprises don’t stop at the curated art gallery on the lower level. Even the more private spaces become intimate stages for non-specific art and sculptural forms. This is architecture that invites both presence and discovery.
Spaces That Reveal Themselves Slowly

Each floor serves a distinct purpose, choreographed like acts in a play:
- Ground Level – main bedroom suite, gym, guest room
- Lower Level – dedicated art gallery
- First Floor – expansive living room and kitchen that opens to breathtaking views
- Rooftop – terraces and a pool that float above the city

The kitchen, wrapped in stainless steel and lined with panoramic glazing, feels like a chef’s observatory. The living room pairs earth-toned furniture with striking contemporary art. And then there’s the bathroom—a jaw-dropping fusion of green-veined marble, mirrored surfaces, and sculptural lighting that feels like stepping into a private spa carved from precious stone.
Where Marble Meets Concrete in Perfect Contrast

For all the raw beauty of concrete, Kallos Turin also infused the home with exquisite selections of Greek and imported marbles. Nowhere is this more breathtaking than the main bathroom, where swirling aqua stone wraps every surface, transforming utilitarian space into immersive luxury.

This contrast—between the rugged and the refined—defines the project’s contemporary vision. It isn’t minimalism and it isn’t maximalism. It’s something far richer: material clarity with emotional depth.
A Landscape That Doesn’t Just Surround the House—It Becomes It

Perhaps the most enchanting feature is how the garden climbs the structure. Native plantings envelop terraces, staircases, and exterior landings, blurring the divide between built and natural environments. From the rooftop, the pool reflects both the sky and the sprawling city below, grounding the home in its landscape while lifting it above the everyday.

A House Full of Secrets—and Full of Soul

In a world where many modern houses chase simplicity, this one embraces complexity. It folds the hillside into its geometry, turns circulation into choreography, and merges art and architecture into a seamless, living whole.
Kallos Turin’s creation is not merely beautiful—it is intentional, ambitious, and alive. A home that surprises at every turn, softening concrete with light, color, landscape, and art until the material itself feels transformed.
It is, quite simply, a masterclass in contemporary design.
