Taking Shabby Chic To The Maximum

barnyard wedding The Prairie By Rachel Ashwell

Taking shabby chic to the maximum, this barnyard wedding The Prairie By Rachel Ashwell, is rustic and beautiful. The Prairie dates back to the mid 1800s, when Otto and Hedwig Mayer acquired it. Many years later the farm land became abandoned and fell into disrepair until a twist of fate crossed the path of Lenore Prudhomme, who would lovingly take on the task to restore the dilapidated homestead. A total labor of love and attention to detail, using mostly recycled materials, and adding vintage structures from lands nearby brought the propoerty back to its glory.

During the restoration phase Rachel was carefulto preserve the paths trodden by footsteps and hands of those before her. Her vision was to balance the sweeping rustic, primitive soul of the architecture of the five houses and 46 acres of beautiful open landscape of the Prairie with a certain “Marie Antoinette” touch. Comfy Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Coutoure sofas and signaturre crystal chandeliers are mixed with tattered lampshades, vintage fixtures, and original floorboards.
