Lofts are these great open spaces that allow the decorator to run wild with their imagination. It instills a sense of freedom and fulfillment even when the space is empty. The couple Scott & Kristan, owners of the design firm Hammer + Spear in Los Angeles, have taken their loft space and created an unpretentious environment through a fusion of DIY and collected vintage pieces. The effect is a conglomeration of styles, eras, and materials, joined together by a nonaligned color palette.
Wood is an important part of the décor throughout the loft, with stark wooden beams on the ceiling, matching wooden floors, and additional wooden accents that bring the vibe of the home together flawlessly.
This couple’s loft acts as a living space, a workspace, and an entertainment space. It’s a wonderful concept that they seemed to have worked out perfectly. Seating is practical with a leather Chesterfield sofa. Leather wears well and is a great material for those who hold their special and more expensive furnishings close to heart.
Walking forward onto the grand walkway with the living room on one side, and a stunning display of foliage in large wheel barrows on the other, is unique and enhances the natural aspects of the décor.
Room dividers are designed using gondola shelving painted black, and for knockout appeal, vintage lights are added. The couple is very much into a vintage concept that works beautifully throughout their abode. Vintage trunk, vintage African rug, and vintage lights are just a few of the objects infused in the space easily correlating the older themes with modernistic bits and pieces.
The work area is conspicuous but is merged seamlessly with the rest of the space. Avant-garde leather and chrome chairs add to the rustic but chic décor. Moreover, the kitchen area is fully functional with plenty of countertop space and state-of-the-art appliances.
Wood is such an exquisite theme throughout the loft’s space, even the game area is possessed by a fine wooden pool table that adds a majestic aura to the area. A separate area with sectional sofa, TV, and additional natural accent pieces resonates a calm atmosphere that’s designed for comfort.
The main sleeping area is divided from the main area with long natural fiber drapes. The scuffed wooden floor and beams adds to the overall comfortable all natural feeling that resonates throughout the space.
The bathroom consists of a long hallway with a bear claw bathtub, and select wood furnishings and unique accents like the porcelain recessed sink.
It would be no problem to go on forever about the stunning décor and all the hidden gems in this loft space. For instance, the guest bedroom and huge closet space are symmetrical in every way to the rest of the loft but silently hidden. The décor in this living area is well though out and works flawlessly!
