For instance, are you a fan of intriguing fun-like décor pieces? If yes, spiral interior stair rails would be quite an intrigue for you. Ropes for a beachy style
Have you ever thought how beautiful beachy decorations can be? Would you like to have something similar in your own home decor? Then this is the right stair railing system for you. With ropes you can transform the way your indoor stairs look, making them more modern and pleasing to the eye.
Tip: Combine the rope element with fresh and bright color tones, like sea blue or white to get the most out of this style.
Special wood designs
This isn’t for everyone. But if you like the idea of contemporary style then the following example will be your favourite. These indoor stair railings are something of another dimension. The brick-like feeling you get from the crafted wood makes the space more unique and fancy.
A fantastic idea would be to paint the “bricks” in colors you want. Or opt for leaving them the way they are, just like a canvas.
Metal and glass
Torn between the selection of metal or glass for your staicase rails? Not anymore. Try having a combination of these and you won’t lose! The metal gives a place boldness and severity while glass makes it look transparent, clean and chic. Their combination? A perfect result for a perfect home interior of yours.

Geometric patterns
This one’s a usual. And we don’t wonder why! Geometric patterns in stair railing ideas are more than common because they provide you with an approved way of beautifying your railings. They create harmony and balance. To spice things up you can add some plants around or put some geometric photo frames on the wall, if possible. This will make a great visual impression that you will definitely love.

We salvaged some old five panel doors to create this new railing for the landing above the stairs. We feel it really has a presence and a masculine feel. To top it off, this railing was made from 100% salvaged materials including the barn wood posts and caps that were hand milled especially for this project.
Galvanized pipes
In many cases some unnecessary materials can become quite useful when it comes to home decoration. Take galvanized pipes, for example. They constitute another good alternative for amazing indoor stair railings. Although, they could be easily used in outdoor staircase rails as well.

I really appreciate so many new ideas for stairs. This is the type of thing that I never paid much attention to until I saw how awesome my friend’s stairs are. They really add a lot to the atmosphere of her home, and I have since been looking to do something cool with some exterior stairs. Do you have any tips on how to make them durable as well as having esthetic value?

I like how you mentioned that you can go with a spiral stair rails if you’re a fac of fun-like decor pieces. I’m considering looking for a specialist that does custom hand railings because my wife and I are thinking about renovating our main staircase since it’s getting old and worn down. I think it’s a good idea to consider hiring a reputable professional that can help us choose the best style that fits both our home and the stairs themselves.

Several of the stair railings you show don’t meet code and are not recommended. You must have a railing at 30″ above grade or above a floor. Also, the railing spindles or whatever design they have cannot allow a 4″ sphere to pass through.
