The Yarra House was designed by Leeton Pointon Architects, Susi Leeton Architects and Allion Pye Interiors. A holistic approach was adopted, with the intention of melding architecture, design and interior elements. The house celebrates modern Australian family life in its generosity of space, without ostentation, that is both practical and serviceable. With a circular stair acting as the pivot, a seamless flow of spaces, individual yet each relating to the whole, was expressed through the careful bance of scale and selection of materials, finishes, lighting, acoustics, furnishings and and artworks. The palette is natural and subtle, respecting its materiality, with an emphasis on the handcrafted.
