The Gippsland Farmhouse: Beautiful Decor in the Countryside

The Gippsland Farmhouse is a little farmhouse set on 113 acres of lush green Poowong East. The farmhouse is the property of Tamsin Carvan, who lives with her daughter and partner. The farmhouse is known for being photogenic as well as its various features. Tamsin moved to the farmhouse approximately eleven years ago and established it from scratch.

What makes the Gippsland Farmhouse unique is its architecture and design. One of the interesting rooms in the farmhouse is the kitchen. It was handcrafted and designed by Tamsin’s partner, Allan Walker. Its interesting features include the shelves and cupboards which are made of Baltic pine. The floorboards blend in well with the workbench which is made of a mix of handwood and ironback. The seats, which were recycled from stools found at a garbage depot, have been painted and replaced with Baltic pine.

Tamsin’s Table is the place to be if you want to host a workshop or a beautiful lunch in the countryside. The furniture pieces are made by Allan, Tamsin’s partner while the food is made from produce gathered from and grown on the farm.

In the dining room, there is an old table which gets everyone’s attention for the first time. Tamsin says that the beautiful table was a long-term loan which she got from the Olsens. The Olsens are not only her neighbours but also the direct descendants in the lineage of the original settlers on the valley. The table, which was made by a Swedish ship builder over a century ago, makes for comfortable lunch space.

Apart from the dining room, the farmhouse also has a living area which is cozy and stylish. The room spots a lamp which has wooden accents and intricate designs. It was made by Allan and it sits on one corner of the room. There is also a beautiful desk which accentuates the space. It was made from Oregon planks which were initially salvaged from a nearby service station. The interesting thing about this desk is that its legs were made out of pieces of a 1929’a cedar door.

You would not enjoy the splendor that is the Gippsland Farmhouse without checking out the master bedroom. It is decorated using fabric which Tamsin’s family has collected over the years. The bedside boxes, which Allan made from Baltic pine, also accentuate the space.

Whether you want to relax over lunch or you want to get some inspiration for an interior décor project, Gippsland offers the best sneak peek into a world of peace and beauty.
