Almdorf Seinerzeit Dream Traditional Huts in Austria. There exist those few, very special places with an exceptional aura. These places raise deep emotions and long-lost moods. They provide a deep affinity with the originality, with the power of nature and the meaningfulness of the genuine and traditional.
The Almdorf Seinerzeit is such a place. As soon as you arrive on the sunny plateau an inner peace expatiates, you can look over the beautiful valley and the essential get visible – you get free of the burden of everyday and a surprising ease spreads out.
Only natural material was used in constructing the Carinthian cabins. Natural sheep wool is used for insulation and roofs are made in “nail shingle” style. Gutters and hooks are made from naturally shaped trees and the “fried” (wound) fence rings are made with branches of pine trees.
Nature knows exactly what to produce and it is a blessing there are still people around who learn, know and work with those old techniques.
Twenty-one cabins are excellently appointed for family life or cozy intimacy, with fresh flowers, a great variety of books, games for children and a comfortable living space on two floors.
The cabins have a kitchen-living room, a parlor, two bathrooms with toilet, one with a shower and the other with a wooden bathtub. Add two bedrooms upstairs, a balcony overlooking the valley, a terrace and a beautiful garden.
If you prefer even more comfort you will want one of the four hunting lodges. The open fire place is the perfect spot for cozy hours.
A traditional wooden bathtub is integrated into the room and separated by a curtain. The lodge’s own small wine cellar holds precious and rare wines from the top wine-growers. The bathtub on the terrace is heated by the village host and Alpine herbs are added on request inviting you to take a bath under the stars.
The three chalets are the highest category among the alp cabins. Situated on the edge of the village, they have a spectacular view of the valley.
The spacious bathroom features an authentic wooden bathtub and a wood-paneled “forest rain” shower. The floor consists of indirectly illuminated pebbles beneath transparent glass. Each bathroom also has its own “Champagne cellar” and a whitewood sauna. If you wish to take a bath under the stars, your own outdoor tub is ready on the terrace.
The two bedrooms have canopy beds and one of them an open fireplace. If you prefer it traditional, you may use the cozy hay bed under the roof. That’s where children in particular feel right at home.
