Dream 400 Years Old Farmhouse In Belgium
Hoeve de witte Gans is located on 22.000 m2 private land in the heart of the Voerstreek of Zuid-Limburg province, Belgium.
This over 400 years old farmhouse was built with traditional craftsmanship and partly provided with a firebrick façade in the 18th century, in which the old windows were replaced. Inside are still old oak beams, crossbeams filled with loam, large fireplaces and hand-cut tiles. Time seems to have stood still for centuries here. The former family were the owners of the farm for over 200 years. After the last occupant left for a retreat, Raymond and Pauline started to renovate. Only natural materials like wood, loam and stone were used. The name of the country house derives from the tame white geese born in 2008 populating the orchard. A rooster, chickens, sheep and three goats accompany them.
It is comfortable and homely, with characteristic elements like an original baking oven, hand-cut hard stone tiles, a real box bed to dream away, and lots of woodwork.
