Super Sleek but Fabulously Comfortable House

Super sleek, but fabulously comfortable, Mahatma House would not be out of place in one of the world’s fashion capitals, yet this impressive five-bedroom villa is located in the beautiful and very traditional Balinese village of Seseh, just a stone’s throw from the beach.

Mahatma House is owned by a Spanish model and a fashion designer and their sense of style and sophistication shines throughout the villa, from the fabulous black interiors to the incredible array of Asian antiquities.

Surrounded by a lush tropical garden bordering an expanse of manicured lawn, Mahatma House boasts three pavilions symmetrically arranged around an emerald green swimming pool that forms the centerpiece of this villa.

The grey-black river stone featured throughout the villa – lining the swimming pool and forming a backdrop to the two feature walls that cascade with water – enliven the senses and create a synergy with the natural environment, harmonizing with the dark, glistening volcanic sands of Seseh Beach. The two master bedrooms boast spectacular views over the ocean as it stretches endlessly towards the horizon, whilst the suites and corner room are surrounded by the verdant garden, fragrant with frangipani.

At the heart of Mahatma House’s main pavilion is an enormous light-filled, open-plan living room furnished with an oversized daybed strewn with Chinese style silk cushions, and comfortable rattan chairs upon which to recline with a book or take an afternoon nap. This magnificent space overlooks the garden and pool and is connected to the kitchen by a rustic wooden bridge over a fishpond.

The kitchen, finished in super-stylish black terrazzo and equipped with fabulous matt black crockery, features Chinese cabinets and a wall display of traditional Javanese metal cracker jars. Adjacent to the kitchen, the open-sided dining room seats ten and overlooks the garden, pool and balé.

The entertainment area is located to the other side of the living pavilion and is furnished with comfortable sofas on which to lay back and watch the 42-inch flat-screen television, discreetly housed within a chic black oriental-style cabinet. Behind the entertainment area, and looking out towards the garden, pool and pavilions, is a low Japanese-style table with seating for six.
