Drummonds was founded in 1988 by Drummond Shaw, who at the time was restoring his period house and was finding it difficult to source authentic architectural antiques. Drummond used this experience to set up Drummonds Architectural Antiques and quickly established the company as the best architectural antiques dealer in the UK. Although the business bought and sold a wide variety of architectural antiques, Drummond’s main passion was classic bathrooms. Finding nice original bathroom pieces that could be restored and used with modern plumbing systems became more and more difficult. Today Drummonds’ is a manufacturer and retailer of classic bathroom products.

Local architecture practice, Rebirth at Cuschieri Architects, was chosen to undertake this project, delivering excellent results. Through careful planning and by resourcing and selecting each fixture and fitting, they preserved the authenticity, exceptional quality and character of the original apartment.

The floor is inclined to allow water drainage under the window; a system that is hard to install in an old building. Although compact in size, the large window and high ceiling, together with the continuous tiling work on floor and walls, create the illusion of a much larger and brighter space.
